Domestic Partnership gives me hope for a better future.
Ever since Washington State instituted registering for domestic couples, including same-sex relationships, Bruce and I have been considering registering our relationship. It would allow us to advocate for each other as well as other benefits. Last month Bruce proposed to me, I said "yes" and we plan to hold a commitment ceremony next year about the same time here at our home on Vashon. This has given Bruce some extra motivation to complete renovation on the house and he has been making good progress. Here are some pictures of the progress:

When I first moved in four years ago we had a very chilly winter. Since then Bruce has been insulating and repairing this hundred-year-old farm house. Today the house is much more cozy than when I first moved in. This new paint job is mostly frosting on the cake, but it really lifts my spirits to look at it and think of all the improvements. Indeed it is cozy now!

I have to admit we are doing this more for the practical issues than the social ones. Still, it is good to celebrate life and our intimate relationships are something to celebrate. :)

There's never enough time! I'll need to go to all the good stores and websites. Working over swatches and buttons! Oh, the buttons!
